iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

Whole internet was full of rumors with fake photos of how the upcoming iPhone might look and what features it should include. It was so until Apple announced long awaited two brand new phones – iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Company well played picking up the date that matches its 7th generation mobile devices. And we just can’t wait to present you all the most important things from Apple’s 2016 keynote.

So lets start with a new iPhone 7 design. Seems like Apple decided not to make any big changes and stay with the design that people love. However, upper and lower lines were removed from the backside, for most users making it easier to identify the latest iPhone. Compared with iPhone 6S, the iPhone 7 is 5 grams lighter, although has identical housing dimensions. Remembering Steve Jobs, he always used to talk about the improvements on device size and weight, probably that’s why we missed that part during the Phil Schiller presentation.
Going further, we couldn’t find any major design changes on iPhone 7 Plus either, but it’s 0.2mm fatter and even 16 grams heavier compared with iPhone 6 Plus. There’s no doubt that these changes comes with a new 12MP dual camera and the bump that sticks out more than 0.5mm on the back side.

Now, for the first time in Apple history, both new iPhones are dust and waterproof. This announcement has been applauded by the audience and we are sure that lots of us users will be happy with it.
Apple made another great improvement by upgrading 12MP high speed sensor camera in both devices. In fact, iPhone 7 Plus includes two of them. Phil explained that zooming to 2x, iPhone automatically switches to additional telephoto camera, which preserve best image quality while in zoom mode. Zooming further to 5x, telephoto camera keeps 4 times better image quality because of larger f/1.8 aperture and the software zoom feature. That’s why Apple decided to push digital zoom up to 10x.
New Quad LED flashlight puts 50% more light and has flicker sensor, which reads the flickering of official lighting and compensate it when taking a photos or videos. It reduces the object and its background lighting difference, making the images look more natural.Behind all that, Apple designed ISP (image signal processor) does lots of work. ISP controls autofocus, exposure, and white balance for the camera system, correcting lens imperfections like vignetting or color shading imparted by the lens system. Every time taking a picture with a new iPhone, ISP is performing a 100 billion operations in just 25 milliseconds just to make that picture look gorgeous.
The front camera on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus has been bumped to 7 megapixels with automatic image stabilization for better selfies and video recording.

Apple introduced the re-engineered home button. Despite of all the functions it supports, it was redesigned to be even more responsive and customisable for better user experience. Using Taptic engine, home button lets you move widgets, feel the ringtone or notification and message received.
iPhone 7 and 7 Plus now comes with a stereo speakers for a higher music quality. One is at the top and the second at the bottom, making the sound great in portrait and in landscape.
Talking about the music, 3.5mm headphone jack was removed from the new generation iPhone. Original earphones that comes in a box now connects over the lighting port. Users who wants to connect their headphones over the standard 3.5mm jack, now will be forced to use an adapter. But no need to worry, it’ll be included in the box.
Apple also introduced new accessory called AirPods. It’s a wireless earphones that connects with iPhone over the Bluetooth. AirPods features infrared sensors, which detects when AirPods is in your air and they only play when you are ready to listen. Motion accelerometers allows to access Siri with a double tap. With a single charge, AirPods provides up to 5 hours of battery life. It comes with a beautiful and compact wireless charging case that delivers 24 hours of battery life, which is up to 5 charging times.
Need to mention, that slight improvement was also made on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus battery lifetime. iPhone 7 Plus lasts 1 hour longer than iPhone 6S Plus and the iPhone 7 lasts 2 hours more compared with the iPhone 6S.

The last thing we’d like to talk about is the performance. Both iPhones are powered with a new generation four-core CPU A10 Fusion chip. First two high performance cores are responsible for the performance, while others two for processes optimization and energy efficiency consumption. Apple’s designed performance controller decides which core should work on every task and in that way makes device’s battery last longer.
Using the most powerful chip ever made, graphic performance became 50% faster than it was with A9 chip. Latest six-core GPU chip enabled to run apps and games in whole new level than it was simply not possible in mobile devices before.
Compared with the storage capacity on previous iPhones, the cheapest iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models storage have been doubled, but prices weren’t raised in the US. Both new iPhones comes in 32, 128 and 256GB configurations.

After all was said, let’s end up with prices. iPhone 7 will cost $649 and the iPhone 7 Plus will be available for $769. However, Apple didn’t explained what prices we should expect for bigger capacity models.
