On Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to 4.4 Kit Kat
- Go to Settings/Apps
- Tap on the app you want to stop getting notifications from
- Uncheck Show notifications box.
On Lollipop and Marshmallow
- Go to Settings/Sound and Notification/App Notifications
- Tap on the app you want to stop getting notifications from
- Switch on Block button and you’ll never get notifications from this app
Android Marshmallow, like Lollipop, also lets you choose to block apps from sending notifications entirely or to set notifications from current apps as priority. Turn Block slider On to stop receiving notifications from that app. Turn Treat as priority slider On if you want notifications from that app to be considered as priority.
